This Privacy Policy explains how Horizon AI collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you interact with HorizonAI.

Horizon AI ("HorizonAI," "we," "us," or "our") provides AI-assisted document intelligence tools for business and professional teams. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website, contact us, request a demo, or otherwise interact with us.

This Privacy Policy is intended for website visitors, prospective customers, and business contacts. Customer documents, prompts, outputs, workspace content, and other materials submitted to the HorizonAI platform by or on behalf of a customer ("Customer Data") are processed under the applicable customer agreement, data processing addendum, or other written agreement between Horizon AI and the customer. Where we process Customer Data on behalf of a customer, Horizon AI acts as a service provider or processor, and the customer is responsible for responding to requests relating to that Customer Data.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact information, such as name, work email, company name, job title, and phone number.
  • Communications information, such as messages submitted through forms, emails, demo requests, support inquiries, and meeting notes.
  • Account or evaluation information, if we provide access to a pilot or private preview, such as login identifiers, workspace membership, and usage metadata.
  • Website and device information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Business information from third-party sources, such as company profile information, professional network information, or publicly available business contact details.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through our public website. Please do not submit confidential documents, regulated personal information, or highly sensitive information through public contact forms.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and demo requests.
  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve our website and services.
  • Communicate about pilots, evaluations, services, updates, and administrative matters.
  • Analyze website performance and understand interest in our services.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents, abuse, or fraud.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Where Customer Data is processed through the HorizonAI platform, we use it only as permitted by the applicable customer agreement. We do not use Customer Data to train generalized or third-party foundation models unless a customer has expressly agreed in writing.

3. How We Share Information

We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers that help us host our website, operate infrastructure, manage communications, analyze usage, provide security, or support business operations.
  • Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers.
  • Authorities or third parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Parties involved in a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. If applicable privacy law treats certain analytics or advertising activities as a "sale" or "sharing," we will provide choices as required by law.

4. Customer Data and AI Processing

HorizonAI is designed for business use. Customer Data may include documents, prompts, queries, files, outputs, metadata, and related workspace activity. Customer Data is governed by the relevant customer agreement and, where applicable, a data processing addendum.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Customer Data remains the customer's responsibility and is processed on the customer's behalf.
  • We use Customer Data to provide and secure the service, troubleshoot issues, support requested features, and comply with the customer agreement.
  • We do not use Customer Data to train generalized or third-party foundation models.
  • Customer administrators may control access, retention, and deletion settings where those features are available.

5. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and Customer Data. These safeguards may include access controls, encryption in transit, encryption at rest where supported, logging, vendor review, and internal security procedures.

No system is completely secure. We encourage customers and users to use strong authentication practices and avoid submitting sensitive information through public website forms.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to respond to inquiries, maintain business records, provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Customer Data retention is governed by the applicable customer agreement and customer configuration where available.

7. International Transfers

Horizon AI is based in the United States. If you access our website or services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to opt out of certain marketing communications.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at privacy@horizonapi.ai. We may need to verify your request before responding. If your request relates to Customer Data controlled by one of our customers, we may direct you to that customer.

9. Children

Our website and services are intended for business users and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
